New Stephen Malkmus Album Slated for May Release

Matador Records has set a May 24 release date for the upcoming album from Stephen Malkmus, Face The Truth. FTT will be his third post-Pavement release and his first "bona fide solo album." That's right -- Face the Truth will be Jickless. Matador heralds FTT as Malkums at "the height of his creative powers" with his "wittiest moments to date...along with many of his most heartfelt." Unfortunately Malkmus will not support the album with a lengthy tour (cut him some slack; he's going to be a Daddy soon). He will, however, kick off some planned "selected US dates" by headlining the Matador South by Southwest event, which will also feature Pretty Girls Make Graves, Laura Cantrell, and Dead Meadow (March 18, The Parish).
