The hip-hop heavy line up for the Philly version of Live 8 just got a little lighter as 50 Cent announced through his publicist that he won't be able to make the show. Nothing against 50 Cent, and I'm looking forward to seeing Jay-Z and Will Smith, but I'm still wondering where all the big rock acts are when it comes to the Live 8 show in Philadelphia: Foo Fighters, Janes Addiction, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Black Crowes, Live, Sheryl Crow, are just some of the names that could balance out this bill. And, there are scores of
up and coming acts that would enhance the show as well. And, what about all the old school do-gooders? You'd think Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Jackson Browne would be all over this thing?
Anyway now that 50 is out, could there now be room on the bill for the recently exonerated Michael Jackson? Rumors are circulating the
MJ could appear in Philly with his pal Stevie Wonder. Now if we could get Bruce on the bill we'd really have a rockin' rendition of "We are the World."
