Paik opens the door to a new universe of eminent sound. This droning space rock/dream pop trio creates a stellar-like state of hypnosis with a mixture of thick feed back and strung out guitars that still manages to bite through with each riff. Hailing from Detroit, Paik is nothing that you would expect. Neptune, Venus, or some planet that has not been discovered yet would be way more appropriate. Imagine a heavier more intense My Bloody Valentine with Mogwai-like build ups. Live, they seem to construct a pulsing black hole of disconnected emotion that is almost impossible to not get sucked in to.
For fans of: My Bloody Valentine, Hawkwind, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Acid Mothers Temple, God Speed You Black Emperor, etc...
