Dischord's
Q and Not U have decided to throw in the towel. The band left the following message on their website yesterday:
After seven years, hundreds of shows, thousands of miles, 46 states, four continents, three albums, only one flat-tire and countless nicknames for Shawn Brackbill, Q and Not U is disbanding.
With all of your support, we feel that we've reached all of our shared goals as Q and Not U and we're ready to move on to other projects in life. We all hope to play music together again
someday, but we feel that it's a beautiful and natural time to bring this band to a close.
How can we possibly thank everyone for the incredible
friendship and support you've shown us over the years? We've always viewed this band as something that extends far beyond the three of us and we're eternally grateful for all the love you've shown. We're so happy to have shared such an
important chapter of our lives with you. Thanks for being beautiful.
We're still playing a handful of shows this summer, (Siren Festival, the Stone Pony, Fort Reno), and we are currently confirming some farewell shows in D.C. for September. Those details will be announced shortly. Again, thank you
for making all of this possible for us.
All of our love: John, Harris, Chris
