Green Apple Music Festival Comes To New York

In conjunction with the celebration of Earth Day, Relix Magazine and Peter Shapiro will produce the Green Apple Music Festival, a four day event to take place April 20-23 in New York City. The festival will commence April 20 with the 6th annual Jammy Awards at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. While the nominees and performers have yet to be revealed, Relix has announced that Frank Zappa will posthumously receive the annual Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Green Apple Music Festival will ambitiously spread throughout Manhattan, with plans to put on 50 shows at 20 different venues ranging in size from midtown's exalted Carnegie Hall to TriBeCa's cozy Knitting Factory. To date, Little Feat's April 22 show at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill is the only show confirmed as part of the April festival.
