Lollapalooza 2005 was a shadow of the former traveling roadshow and due to inability to sustain ticket sales for a mobile tour elected to morph into a "destination" festival, ala Jazz Fest or Bonnaroo.
The decision was successful enough for Lollapalooza to do it one more time and this year they've added a third day.
MTV reports that no one has been booked to play this year's show, but organizers are looking to increase the show to eight stages with around 130 artists. Don't be surprised if Perry Farrell and Janes Addiction play the show.
Last year's festival included the Pixies, Killers, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab for Cutie, the Arcade Fire, Weezer and Dinosaur Jr.
