Michael Stipe & Bright Eyes Headline Anti-War Benefit Concert

In the spirit of the sixties, Michael Stipe, Bright Eyes, Rufus Wainwright, Fischerspooner, Devendra Banhart, Peaches and Public Enemy's Chuck D, will appear at a "Bring 'Em Home Now" benefit concert at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on March 20. The protest concert will coincide with the 3rd anniversary of the Iraqi War. The benefit will also feature a speech from Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son in the war.

While the star power of the initial slate may pale in comparison to the storied protest concerts of prior generations, a cause cannot be measured by the celebrity of those involved alone. The proceeds from the concert will benefit Iraq Veterans Against The War and Veterans For Peace.
