I was channel surfing last night and came across American Idol which I had not seen yet this season. Last night, just the female finalists sang and I must say I was not the least bit impressed with 8 of the 10 performers.

Only Kelly Pickler and Mandisa were entertaining and top level singers. The rest were rather bland. Obviously this site favors artists who write their own songs and make it big the old fashioned way by working hard, touring and the like. But, I'm no Idol hater. Indeed I watched most of Season 2. However, this year's female group is lacking compared to years past and to me is already down to only two worthy performers.

I haven't seen the guys and probably won't this week, but I sure hope they're better than most of the ladies I saw last night.
