Chris Daughtry favored to win American Idol 

As the competition heats up with the final twelve American Idol taking the stage this week, a new favorite has emerged at Sportsbook.com. Chris Daughtry replaces Ace Young as the new Idol favorite with odds of 5-2.

Ace falls from the top and lands in third in the odds race at 5-1 behind Katharine McPhee, a 21 year old from Los Angeles, California. McPhee is currently a 4-1 bet to take the American Idol crown.

Sportsbook.com players agree with the odds, favoring Daughtry, a McLeansville, NC native with 18.6 per cent of wagers to date.

Following the 26 year old rocker are three women, lead by McPhee who has received 14.4 per cent of wagers, Lisa Tucker at 13.6 per cent and Paris Bennett at 13.1 per cent.

Long shots in becoming the fifth American Idol include Kevin Covais and Melissa McGhee, sharing odds of 40-1, and Bucky Covington with 45-1.
