Mat Kearney has building a buzz over the last couple of years and is set for his first major label release April 18. Kearney - like Jack Johnson, Amos Lee, David Gray - keeps the singer-songwriter resurgence alive and well. But, Mat adds a touch of acoustic hip-hop on tracks like "Girl America" to set himself apart from the pack.
His new record
Nothing Left To Lose was produced by Robert Marvin and recorded at Bridge Street, The Smokehouse and Sweetbriar Studios. Kearney plays acoustic guitar and is joined by Paul Moak (guitar), Lynn Nichols (guitar), Tony Lucido (bass), Lindsay Jamieson (drums) and other guests.
His first indie record sold an amazing 40,000 copies. Mat just finished up a tour with the Fray and Cary Brothers. He's now on tour with Matt Wertz beginning April 5 and is
worth checking out.
