The
Rhythm & Blues Foundation will present the 14th Annual Pioneer Awards on June 29, 2006 at the Park Hyatt Bellevue in Philadelphia, PA. The awards return after a three year hiatus and will be the inaugural event for the Foundation in their new home in The City of Brotherly Love.
The 2006 honorees will be Chubby Checker, Bettye LaVette, Barbara Mason and producer Thom Bell and the Delfonics. The Legacy Tribute Award will go to Otis Redding and the Lifetime Acheivement Award will be given to Berry Gordy.
