Tom Verlaine To "Tour"

Former Television frontman Tom Verlaine will release two separate solo albums this month. Around consists of Verlaine's instrumental compositions and features Television drummer Billy Ficca. On the second disc, Songs And Other Things, Verlaine will sing and be joined by Television bassist Fred Smith. The albums, which will be released on April 25, are Verlaine's first new solo albums in close to 15 years.

In support of his new material, Verlaine will embark on an east coast "tour" consisting of three dates: May 15 at Washington D.C.'s 9:30 Club, May 16 at Philadelphia's Theater of the Living Arts (TLA) and concluding May 18 at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, where Verlaine once ruled while a member of Television.

Television will be performing a one-off concert north of the border in Toronto at NXNE, Canada's biggest music festival. Verlaine will be a featured celebrity at the conference.
