Performing at Jazzfest this weekend in New Orleans, Bruce Springsteen spoke out on the still struggling Gulf Coast area. He's
quoted as saying "I saw sights I never thought I'd see in an American city. The criminal ineptitude makes you furious." Springsteen seemed to address the New Orleans situation directly with a slightly altered cover of Ry Cooder's "How can a poor man stand such times and live?"
Besides superstars like Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Buffett & Elvis Costello, organizers of the event say that Louisiana musicians compromised approximately 90% of a line-up.
