Lon Levin is on a mission to transform the radio listening experience. He's already taken radio to a new level by co-founding XM Radio, which, of course, recently announced a proposed merger with Sirius Satellite Radio. Now, Levin is going to enter the Web 2.0 version of radio listening by agreeing to become a "Senior Adviser" to new media upstarts Slacker Inc.
While satellite radio fulfills nearly all musical tastes with its multi-channel format,
Slacker attempts to go a step further and transforms the listener into programmer. Something terrestrial "free radio" often claims to do, but rarely delivers. Slacker aims to be "personal radio" -where you can pick the songs - and be accessible at home, work and on the road.
