Astrella Celeste Dreams of the Past

Being the offspring of a rock legend is rarely as enviable as it may sound, particularly if you are intent on entering the business yourself. Just ask Julian and Sean Lennon. Astrella Celeste, the daughter of 60s star Donovan, is the latest star child to jump on stage while attempting to forge her own identity outside of her famous father's spotlight.

Celeste delivers a jazz influenced pop on her forthcoming EP Blue Star, due out in the fall. Astrella does embrace her roots and cites her Dad as her biggest influence, who she is set to perform with at this year's Isle of Wight Festival. However, she's not completely throw back as she's obviously a fan of The Cardigans and Tori Amos as well. You can check out her video for the title track "Dream" (by Kevin Hunter of Sheryl Crow's Tuesday Night Music Club) featuring plenty of scenery from her home turf in the UK here. She's also coming to America later this month for a couple shows including a cd release party in NY on June 27th, details here.
