Kurt Cobain's life (and death) have been the subject of various books and films over the years. But, Courtney Love herself has reportedly decided to
further cash in put out a film after she reportedly acquired the rights to Charlie Cross' Cobain biography
Heavier Than Heaven.
Reports have Ewan McGregor being hand picked by Love to play Cobain. Love, who's been seen lately with Billy Corgan, is also out pushing her own story in the form of "diaries" - including an email to Lindsay Lohan - that have been put together as a
book. We'll have to wait and see if the movie actually happens. Reports say it is in very early stages, probably meaning it is just a thought at this point.

Nirvana's Kurt Cobain topped the list of celebrities raking in cash from the coffin straight into corporate coffers. Nirvana (or at least their label) managed to sell over 1 million records in 2005 and is on track to reach a similar total for 2006. When you tack on radio royalties and other income, Cobain's total for the last twelve months was a cool $
50 million. I wonder if
Eddie Vedder made that much?
Given the recurring nature of their revenue streams, it is no surprise that musicians took up seven of the top thirteen spots on the dead celeb earnings list. Elvis, John Lennon, Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, George Harrison and Bob Marley also all did quite well for their heirs. Marley's estate alone raked in over $7 million. That's a lot of ganga!

On the heels of being voted the all-time top rock hero by NME readers, Kurt Cobain's spirit is reportedly visiting with psychic Victoria Bullis. Bullis claims that Cobain was such a "tortured and depressed" soul because he was a 16th Century murderer. In her "Beyond The Grave" column in Stuff magazine, the medium recounts a recent encounter with the Nirvana star and assures fans he has "resolved his issues" after links to a terrible past.
According to PRinside.com, Bullis explains: "He's a tortured soul from many centuries ago. I'm seeing a lifetime in Europe around the 16th century where he herded a bunch of people into the dungeon underneath a castle and let them all suffocate. Ever since then, he's never had a life where he wasn't feeling tortured and depressed." Bullis also "reveals" that Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean, was a relative of one of the people suffocated: "He has a lot of guilt about her." Meanwhile, the rock star's spirit, which Bullis says also inhabited the body of a provocative early 20th century female trendsetter, plans to return to earth as a great classical pianist. She adds, "He plans to be back in 15 years, and he'll be a child prodigy."
I didn't know we got to pick our next life career! Its also good to know Kurt has resolved his issues. But, I still want to know what the hell he was doing with Courtney Love? Maybe I'll get to ask him when he plays Carnegie Hall in about 20 years.

Kurt Cobain was voted the Greatest Hero In Rock 'N' Roll history by the readers of the British music magazine,
NME. The Nirvana frontman, who apparently killed himself in 1994 at just 27 years old, beat out relatively young upstarts like Pete Doherty and Carl Barat to top the list. Rock and roll hereos who've had trememndous careers were further down the list with rock legends Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash and Paul McCartney barely making into the top 50.
The top ten is as follows:
1: KURT COBAIN
2: PETE DOHERTY
3: MORRISSEY
4: LIAM GALLAGHER
5: CARL BARAT
6: THOM YORKE
7: NOEL GALLAGHER
8: DAVID BOWIE
9: IAN BROWN
10: IAN CURTIS
Pete Doherty at #2? Are you kidding? The guy has some talent, but lets get real when we talk about his place in rock history. Maybe they should have drug tested the people answering the survey.
